I was just wondering How often i should clean my fish’s bowl.
It is a Beta fish.Also,im a little worried because Sometimes it floats to the very bottom for like 10 minutes then gets really active.
As fivespeed said, there is no magic number, but if you are talking about an unfiltered bowl, it will never cycle as a filtered tank will and will have no way to deal with built up ammonia. I replace 100% of the water in my betta bowls every 3 days and practice very careful feeding so as to not over feed. If you ever have uneaten food in the bowl even for a few hours, I would suggest you clean the bowl every 2 days. Bettas fins are very sensitive to excess ammonia and will curl and fray at even low levels of ammonia build up so it’s important to take extra care with the water.
