The Hawkesbury rier is locate near the central coast Sydney, Nsw…….. I need to know how to cacth Bream up their e.g. tackle, rods, reels, bait, techniques e.t.c.
Also have any of you caught a nice size bream in the Hawkesbury river if so how and the size if the fish?
Light Tackle, short rod of about 5-6 ft.
Line from 8 – 15 lbs. test
Hook size depends on the bait size, usually from # 4 -3/0
Best bait is live bait, prawns and bloodworm are best.
Lures, hard body and soft plastics work wonder
Weight, split-shot as light as possible
Anchor boat short distance from shore and cast towards shoreline
Be quiet, bream are easily spooked
