Fishing Jigs
Got some jigs for fishing, the “eye” for fishing line is coverd. Best way to get through it?
Some jigs that I got need fishing line to go through the eye, but the way they were made, the eyes have been covered over with paint, so I need to make a hole through it, either pokin one through or chipping the excess paint away. What’s the best way to do this? Before I’ve used other fish hooks to poke holes through but its not easy
UPDATE: I’ve put a lighter to it, just the eye till it blackens. Next I proceeded to poke another hook throught. € heat from the lighter melted the paint, making it easier for € hook to go through. The black discoloring is easily able to be wiped away
Tackle and bait shops sell a eye buster, that is made for that. It is pretty common on jigs that the eye is covered in paint. If you you a hook to clear it, You have to throw it away or sharpen it.
