Do you recommend Pet Supplies Plus?
I have a limited number of pet stores in the area that I live in (Southern Michigan) and I was wondering if anyone would actually recommend going to Pet Supplies Plus. They are not necessarily a bigger store so I was wondering if their pets (fish) are usually healthy. I got a snake once from Discount Pet Center and he had mites and just was not as healthy as he should have been coming from a pet store. Anywho, I’d like to get fish from there so any objections or bad experiences? Thanks!

The fish from the store in my area are very healthy and good looking.
I actually bought some tetra’s from there, they are all doing very well.
Not everyone has the option of buying straight from the breeder or online.I think the pet supplies plus animals are well taken care of and are healthy. The tanks are clean, and the fish are healthy.
Chain pet stores are fine to buy from, you just have to watch and be aware the fish can sometimes be sick. You should be fine, however just look at the fish for a couple minutes. Make sure you don’t see any sick fish in ANY of the tanks. If one is sick I guarantee you more will get sick, because the tank’s filtration system is one big one. Pet store tanks don’t have separate filter’s so any type of parasite or bacterial infection gets passed easily on from tank to tank through the huge filter for all the tanks.
Again you should be perfectly fine, just check out all the fish before buying.
I’ve been getting supplies from the one near me recently also. There prices are cheaper, and I know for me at least that’s a good thing. All the products I’ve bought are working great, and you can find a wide range of supplies in there that you can’t find in other pet stores so that’s another plus for me :]
