Is this wychwood carp rod and reel deal suitable for pike too?

I just want to know if the Carp rod and reel combo here http://www.paidonresults.net/c/19231/1/207/0″>Lathams Fishing would also be suitable for pike fishing on rivers like the Stour and the Avon using deadbaits?

Before you spend that money on the Combo you’ve looked at , have a look at the Double Combo at Used Tackle , they advertise in the Angling Times every week and do a great deal , 2 rods , 2 reels ( with free spool feature ) all in a holdall £ 50 .. I brought a set last year for my son , I use it more than him , they cast deadbaits really well and handle fish well to.
If you’re not used to Pike please go with someone who has experience , an unhooking mat and forceps are also a must.
