arkansas game and fish
I came across a large snake today, help with identification?

the first two third with the head was black, the middle third of the body was red and the tip of the tail was orangy yellow. This snake was about 4-5 feet long, at least and the body was as big around as a woman’s arm. Any ideas what it could be?? I live in Arkansas, close to Missouri, I looked on the game and fish commision pages and could not find anything that big with those colors on it, could it be a cross breed? My hubby and I both saw it two different times, and it got away before we could take a picture.

i love animals so i should probably know i think it was an corn snake or an coral snake.
